Shop for a cause: Pretty pieces that support the Noreen Fraser Foundation

With the Holidays right around the corner, we’ll be sipping, sharing and attending back to back soirees before we know it. So why not get some of your gifting out of the way while supporting a good cause? This October, all net proceeds (plus my earnings) from Stella & Dot’s Breast Cancer Awareness Boutique will go to the Noreen Fraser Foundation. The nonprofit is dedicated to raising funds for women’s cancer research and was founded by Noreen Fraser in 2006.

Diagnosed with Stage IV breast cancer in 2001, Noreen Fraser’s cancer had metastasized to her bones by 2003.  After years of fighting, Noreen pledged to devote herself to raising money for focused research to find new techniques to prevent and fight cancer.

The mission of the Noreen Fraser Foundation (NFF) is to raise funds for women’s cancer research. NFF supports translational cancer research aimed at developing new prevention methods, diagnostic tools and non-toxic therapies to treat women’s cancers. Our hope is that until there are CURES, women’s cancers will become manageable diseases controlled with targeted therapies that protect patients’ quality of life. The Noreen Fraser Foundation is a 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization. GreenLinebyK launches charity campaign benefiting Lyme Disease

GreenLinebyK, a grass-roots clothing boutique based out of Mashpee, MA, has just announced their latest charity campaign benefiting Lyme Disease treatment, testing and awareness. May marks Lyme Disease Awareness Month and with every organic cotton maxi yoga skirt sold, $3 will be donated to LymeDisease.org. The non profit organization is dedicated to promoting advocacy, educating both patients and physicians about the disease and funding research to improve patient diagnosis and treatment.

After seeing her daughter suffer from Lyme Disease for years before receiving the right diagnosis and treatment, the disease hits home for Kathryn Hilderbrand, owner and designer of Green Line by K.

“Lyme Disease is one of the most misdiagnosed and misunderstood diseases out there”, said Kathryn Hilderbrand. “I speak from personal experience because my daughter suffered with this disease for years before receiving a proper diagnosis and treatment.”

Made from 100% cotton lightweight jersey knit, the best-selling yoga maxi skirt is perfect for summer. With a long fold over waistband, the skirt can double as a sundress and is also available in a shorter, knee-length style.

Ruffled scarf giveaway plus exciting news from Green Line by K

It might be hard to believe, but in the fashion world, we’re all anxiously waiting for the unveiling of Spring lines. With new collections and trends right around the corner, I can’t wait for the debut of Green Line by K’s new items this season. Not only will the high-quality, handmade items make their return, there will also be accessories available that support fair trade. How cool is that?!

I’m a big supporter of shopping for a cause because not only can you pick up some unique items, you make a direct impact locally and globally. While Green Line by K ramps up for their new socially conscious accessories and of course their Spring clothing, the owner Kathryn is giving away one of her hand-sewn scarves just in time for the Holidays!

The Loose Weave Linen Blend Ruffled Scarf retails for $48 and its comfy feel and laid-back look is perfect with a long sleeved tee and jeans.

Like Green Line by K and Ruffled Row on Facebook and leave a comment on this post letting me know you did. One winner will be chosen at random on Christmas Eve (next Monday) so you’ll have a little something to look forward to for the New Year.

Inner Radiance Spa gives back with free treatments

Inner Radiance, one of my favorite spas in Phoenix, is celebrating the Holidays (and beyond!) with free spa services for those going through a hard time. Each month, individuals can nominate someone special in their life to be treated for a full spa day.

Born from a trip to the grocery store, the complimentary spa day was created after Inner Radiance Spa owner and aesthetician Shaly, met a woman who inquired about the spa logo on her shirt. The woman described how much she wanted to go to a spa, but with long hours and overwhelming bills, it would be impossible.

“I want to give people who work really hard and wouldn’t usually be able to treat themselves to a spa service the change to feel important and give them hope even during hard times. It’s not just about the spa treatments, the complimentary spa day fosters how important it is to take care of oneself and how inspiring a little bit of added abundance can create hope.”

Not only does the day of pampering offer a relaxing outlet, it inspires individuals to take time out for themselves, encourages nominees to add more abundance and self-worth into their lives.

The day of pampering includes a 60 minute massage, a 60 minute organic facial, a spa lunch and a special gift.

To nominate, anyone can send a letter to shaly@innerradiancespa.com or post on their Facebook page about someone that deserves a spa getaway. So, if you know someone in the Phoenix area who needs a day off, be sure to send Shaly a shoutout!
